Description
Rating: 94 pts James Suckling
Tutu Cabernet Franc Calcáreo Mix 2023 is a refined and profound expression of Cabernet Franc from the Valle de Uco, crafted under a philosophy of minimal intervention that prioritizes a true sense of place over any artifice. The project is based on gravity-flow vinification, low extraction, the use of indigenous yeasts, and full aging in concrete eggs, aiming to create wines that are authentic, transparent, and faithful to their origin.
This Cabernet Franc comes from a carefully selected blend of parcels in Gualtallary and Paraje Altamira, grown on soils dominated by 70% stones coated with calcium carbonate and a caliche layer at 30 cm depth. These conditions provide tension, energy, and a pronounced mineral character. A small addition of Malbec adds subtlety and balance, without overshadowing the varietal identity.
"Austere on the nose and at the entry, it unfolds with strength on the finish. Juicy, vertical, and persistent, it leaves a recurring sensation on the palate, inviting the drinker to discover new layers. A distinctive and very fine Cabernet Franc, with great depth and elegance, gaining complexity over time."
A precise and contemplative wine that reflects the spirit of TUTU: wines of peace, delicacy, and honesty, without unnecessary makeup, where every sip speaks clearly of its origin.
