Rating: 94 pts James Suckling
Distinction: Top 100 Wines of Argentina 2025 – James Suckling
Tutu Malbec Calcáreo Mix 2023 is a profound and authentic expression of the Valle de Uco, crafted under a philosophy of minimal intervention that prioritizes the purity of place over any artifice. The project is built on gravity-flow vinification, low extraction, the use of indigenous yeasts, and exclusive aging in concrete eggs, with the aim of conveying identity, typicity, and transparency in every bottle.
This Malbec comes from an exceptional blend of terroirs: parcels in Gualtallary and Paraje Altamira, combining contrasting yet complementary personalities. The soils—composed of 70% stones coated with calcium carbonate and a caliche layer at 30 to 40 cm depth—provide tension, freshness, and a pronounced mineral imprint.
"Austere on the nose and at the entry, the wine expands powerfully on the finish. It is vertical, acidic, and persistent, with vibrant juiciness and a long finale that blends the wild spices of Gualtallary with the finesse and texture of Altamira’s tannins. A Malbec that gains complexity and depth over time."
A wine of character, balance, and precision that faithfully represents the spirit of TUTU: wines of peace, delicacy, and honesty, without unnecessary makeup.
