The wine contains around 15% Malbec in the blend, fermented in 500-liter oak barrels together with 50% of the Cabernet Franc and all of the Malbec, then aged in used foudres. It is very intense and powerful, yet at the same time it shows a lightness on the palate that makes it agile, with great inner energy. Its citrus-like acidity makes it effervescent and electric, with very healthy parameters: 7.5 g of acidity and a pH of 3.45. With time, a spicy character emerges that recalls Chinon and also evokes one of my favorite wines from Bordeaux, Lafleur from Pomerol. It is undoubtedly world-class and well worth cellaring, as it will continue to gain complexity in bottle. One of those wines where the only improvement I can imagine would be having it in magnum rather than bottle.
